V
iz legendarnih Chokehold, The Sworm (in še vrsto drugih odličnih
Sicer
Nasprotno! Our War totalno
zažigajo s svojim besnim old school hardcorom.
do kakšnih sprememb.
''No drunk'' od Corrosion of Conformity.
malo preveč militantno in deluje kot sxe grožnja...s krvjo zamazan
tip, ki v svoji, z X-om označeni desnici drži sekiro. Zadeva se
malo razjasni ko greš skozi besedila in bereš, občutiš njihov bes
nad tistimi ki so opustili svoja prepričanja, nad ex-prijatelji,
prevaranti, lažnivci, religijo, današnjo hc sceno... Teksti se rimajo,
so jezni, direktni in pogosto naletimo na besedo ''fuck you''. Niso
so nektere kar uredu: ''You've taken something you should do for
yourself and claim you do it for him. Anyone not supporting your
doctrine, must be commiting a sin. Shit your preach, so hard to
swallow. I look in the mirror, that's who I follow...''
na dan old school bendi s sporočili tipo ''true till death''. Good
stuff!
English
Version:
After I heard that these crazy Canadians, which used to play in
Chokehold, The Sworm (and bunch of other hardcore bands that always
attract me like a magnet) striked again with a new band I immediately
start looking around where I could get the record. Laucky me, few
days later they soaring the dust all around the room. I have to
say I expected something more metallic but I don't regret buying
it. Contrary! Our War totally kick ass with their pissed off old
school hardcore. It's like a massive wall of energy where fast and
short songs armed with striking riffing, intense percussion and
unique enraged shouting, unmercifully rushing till it's last song
without losing on strenght or facing any alteration. If you ever
listen to Final Exit you will know what I'm talking about. Their
hard hitting songs are not the most original work out there but
I like it and I have a feeling there should be more songs, thought
10'' was a good move. Amongst the songs they also play a cover of
the Corrosion of Conformity ''No drunk''. Anyway, these guys are
furious and they express that very clearly throught their lyrics,
music and even layout. I really like front cover art, though I think
it looks a little bit too militant and works like some kind of sxe
threat...blood covered butcher holding hatcher in his X marked hand.
Things get clear when you read through lyrics and feel their rage
towards sellouts, ex-friends, deceivers, liars, religion, today's
hardcore scene and so on. All lyrics are pissed off, direct, they
rhyme and you often come across word ''fuck you''. I wouldn't expect
that kind of lyrics from guys who used to play in Chokehold, though
some of them are great: ''You've taken something you should do for
yourself and claim you do it for him. Anyone not supporting your
doctrine, must be commiting a sin. Shit your preach, so hard to
swallow. I look in the mirror, that's who I follow...'' There're
X-es all over the place and I have a feeling these guys are very
serious about that. History repeats and the same goes for the old
school HC bands with ''true till death'' type messages. Good stuff!
