In
in Ivana graditi skupaj tisto kar so pričeli že s Clean postanem
Spring ''Hidden Wheel'' in pa komada ''Farewell'' in ''Wake you'',
Tudi teksti so še vedno zapisni v dveh vrsticah,
ampak tokrat so mi zares segli do srca...vzamimo npr. Papermade
'' I'm dancing with the wind on his moves his melody I wish I
could stop I was never a good dancer'' ali pa This letters says...
''All the things I ever wanted to say I said a long time ago
in my letters to you that have never been sent''.
Good stuff!

Version:
And here I have the final release of this Croatian outfit. Yep,
unfortuanetly they called it quit shortly after this piece came
out and it really makes me sad thinking about I will never again
see Neven, Krešo and Ivan building together what they already started
with Clean or even years before. I'm pretty sure they're already
involved in new projects and that's a comfort but on the other hand
it always hurts when a good band falls apart. They left us 12 songs
amongst which you will find also Rites of Spring cover (''Hidden
wheel'') and two songs (''Farewell'' and ''Wake you'') already known
from their initial 3-song MCD. As it concern music I don't have
much to add to what I've already wrote for their split with Childrean
of Fall. ''...screaming emocore with a sound that has vivacious
and melancholic feel at the same time and delivers as melodic as
also chaotic elements. Song structures are nicely stirred up and
besides that you can hear all the instruments at the right place,
including the vocal part blending dual screaming with singing.''
Krešo's bass playing sometimes reminds me on Ivich while Ivan's
screaming delivery can be really sick. Lyrics are still short as
fuck (usually written in two sentences) but this time they really
reached my heart. Just take a look at Papermade '' I'm dancing
with the wind on his moves his melody I wish I could stop I was
never a good dancer'' or This letters says... ''All the things
I ever wanted to say I said a long time ago in my letters to you
that have never been sent''. I think they couldn't transfer
their thoughts nicer on paper than they did it herein! Layout is
very dark and somehow don't represent their work inside the way
it is, especially the front cover is very tedious, but don't let
this mislead you! The guys have put in also an insert taken from
the movie 'The Bridges of Madison Country' I liked so much. Good
stuff!

ampak so zaradi nekaterih problemov komadi v zaključni fazi končali
benda kot sta Nikad in Children of Fall, delita isti kos plastike.
melodije, kratek akustični prehod, dobri preobrati in kričeče govoreči
vokal, medtem ko je drugi podivjan in uničujoč vse do nenavadnega
grenkobe in obupa nad tem krutim svetom...''We're dying , but that's
old news and it won't sell any magazines I'm trying to fight off
the despair, but it's hard when it could easily have been me And
than no one speaks a word about it, only adds to the tragedy We
don't die by our own hands, but by our bitterness...''
English
Version:
This one should came out on a 7'' format but it looks like there
were some problems and it all ended on a MCD, which I think it's
even better. The load this disc carry takes only a bit more than
10 minutes which is not much, but enough to get a quick picture
about the bands this short time has to offer. Although all together
works like something on approval I think it's a fantastic split
and I'm glad these two passionate bands found each other and now
sharing the same piece of plastc. Things start out with Nikad, a
Croation trio playing their version of screaming emocore with a
sound that has vivacious and melancholic feel at the same time and
delivers as melodic as also chaotic elements. Song structures are
nicely stirred up and besides that you can hear all the instruments
at the right place, including the vocal part blending dual screaming
with singing. Both lyrics are written in the form of short thoughts
joined together by just a few words. Nice! I definitely have to
check out their 12''! Swedish part of the disc possess a little
bit stained sound (like in the case of previous Children of Fall
releases) and just like Nikad they dish up two songs, one midpaced,
one of blasting speed. First is composed of slight melodies, brief
acoustic passage, good breakdowns and screaming/talking vocal manners
while the following is a totally wild and devastating song closing
up with unusual end. I love the the second one! Lyrics are inteligent
like always with Children of Fall but this time they're more of
pessimistic nature, dealing with bitterness and despair towards
this ruthless world...''We're dying , but that's old news and it
won't sell any magazines I'm trying to fight off the despair, but
it's hard when it could easily have been me And than no one speaks
a word about it, only adds to the tragedy We don't die by our own
hands, but by our bitterness...'' Split couldn't have more convenient
package...a piece of recycled paper in black'n'brown technique wearing
a cool dimed photography on the front cover. Very, very nice, but
not just the layout, whole record kick ass and it has a cheap price
too, so don't hesitate if you have a chance buying it!

NIKAD
- ''s/t'' MCD
|
Nikad
is a new Croatian band formed by ex Clean. Before I heard them I was
asking around how they sound like. I always got an answer: ''Old ebullition
style''. Well, I'm not that much informed about old Ebullition bands
but probably this is it. Music is chaotic, dynamic, melodic and mainly
played mid tempo. With other words nimble drums rhythms, chaotic guitar
melodies, nice bass lines and vocals which are what else than screaming.
Mmmm…I'm hearing a Fingerprint part here in a second song called ''wake
you''. Taciturn emotional lyrics dealing with freedom, better life
and about listening to your inside. One piece of beautiful emotional
music. I'm sure this would get a better mark if there would be some
more than just three songs.
